Snail-paced run of Somali “athlete”

Nasra Abubakar Ali - the hero of the story - was recently competing in a 100m run at FISU World University Games in China.

She completed the run in 21.81s and nearly twice as long as her closest competitor.

Here’s something crazy:

She did not have any prior experience.
She did not give any evidence of any background in elite athletics.
She’s said to be the niece of a Somali athletics official.

AND she was officially representing Somalia.

People claim it’s a another proof of the corruption in the country.

The Somali Athletics Federation announced they will investigate the case.

46.000-years-old siberian worm revived by scientists

No, it’s not the end of the world.

At least not yet.

They revived a microscopic roundworm from siberian permafrost.

And allegedly, the moment it was "revived”, it started having babies.

This species survived 130ft below the surface in a dormant state called cryobiosis.

But people are concerned and fearful of events like this.

What if we discover a virus that will wipe out humanity?

What if we revive a giant predatory insect?

What if we find something that will shake our perception of history and reality as we know it?

All of them are fascinating, but most of these are concerning.
